All in God's Good Time
All in God's Good Time is my second faith cd. I learned so much from making A WOMAN OF FAITH that I couldn’t wait to start on the next one. I was very inspired, and wrote so many new songs, I felt like God was dropping them in my lap. In fact, I had so many songs it was hard to pick which ones to use.
The songwriting is very eclectic in style, because I’ve always liked and listened to lots of different kinds of music. There are a few country tunes, a gospel feel, rock ballads, an R&B feel, and even a jazzy ballad. I had so much fun making this cd. My friend and band mate from Church of the Valley, Gary Griffin, co-produced it with me. He was remarkable! Such a creative musician, great to hang out with, exactly the guy you want to be in the studio with.
I used the same rhythm section as on the first cd; Luke Hannington on bass, and Glenn Jost on drums. I also added my good friend and band mate from WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY, Linda Taylor, on guitar. What an amazing team they were! They all had great ideas and added so much to the songs I brought to the table. I used a lot of great singers from my church as well, and my daughter even sang lead vocals on one track.
The first cd felt so intimate and personal to me, all about my journey of becoming a mom and a Christian, which happened at about the same time. ALL IN GOD’S GOOD TIME feels more about my maturing faith, how I’ve grown as a Christian. It also feels more universal somehow; less about me personally, and more about a wider sense of being part of the family of faith.
