I played and sang in the band, under the excellent leadership of Bill Thomas. We did all different kinds of music, from lots of different traditions. I loved being in the band! They were all fabulous musicians, and it was exciting to be so much a part of the worship experience. We played every day at worship sessions, and did a concert one night as well. At the concert many different people performed, and the band members all backed each other up. I performed two of my songs, Hymn of Thanks and Pray for Peace. In July 2007, I went to the General Assembly for my denomination (Disciples of Christ). It was so inspiring! There were people from churches all over the world: big churches, small churches, brand new churches, old churches, revitalized churches. We had powerful worship, a huge variety of workshops, amazing speakers, and great music. And I got to meet some wonderful people, as well as reconnect with some of the women Id met at the Mix in06. |
