It all started on a long car ride with my two year old niece. She was bored and restless so I started making up songs about her little toy animals to keep her entertained. It worked, so later I would play the songs on the piano and sing them for her. Her mom asked me for a tape (back in the days of cassette tapes, you know, before the turn of the century). So I wrote a few more songs to put on the tape. Then cousins and friends started asking me for copies, so I decided to make a real recording in my studio. With the help of lots of friends, I made “I See a Tiger”. My niece did the cover art, Heather Stanfield (the bass player from
Trinket) created the little girl for the logo, and I started my own record label, Sister Trudy’s Music. I started doing concerts for kids and selling my cassettes and cd’s on the internet. I enjoyed it so much and got such good response, I made “Come Join the Parade” a few years later.
