About Whose Line - How we made the shows
We would usually tape over a three day weekend. On each day we’d have one audience and play up to 28 games, one right after another. Some games we’d do more than once. Some, like “Greatest Hits”, where they’d usually use three songs based on a single suggestion, we’d do 5 or 6 songs and later they’d pick the best ones. We’d play game after game until we (and the audience) were exhausted.
How I got the gig - My background in Improv
I was never interested in improv or even theater that much when I was growing up in Chicago. I just wanted to be a musician. So I wrote songs, played in bands, did piano bar work, etc. During college I stumbled into a job as a waitress at the famed Second City, and there I became immersed in improv. It really appealed to my sense of taking risk in performance, and having to be “in the moment” with nothing else distracting you.
Check out the photos taken by professional photographer David Bergman at a live show in Las Vegas. He is an amazing photographer!
